The Database Analyst evaluates and reviews U.S State Department database resources and services while ensuring high levels of data quality. This role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software. The position requires a strong understanding of database management systems, particularly ORACLE, and the ability to design logical and physical databases. The Database Analyst will also be responsible for developing and deploying reports and ETL (extraction, transformation, and loading) process packages to support application data integration and operational needs. In addition to database design and management, the Database Analyst will assist application and web development staff and users in finding database solutions to business problems. This includes working on data warehouse architectures, database management system facilities, and the operation and tuning of databases. The role also requires administering, maintaining, developing, and implementing database security and integrity policies and procedures. The Database Analyst will perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability, as well as compliance with business requirements. The position offers work-from-home flexibility after training, but candidates must live within 90 miles of the National Visa Center in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
