About the position

The Database Analyst position within the Public Safety IT Delivery Center (PSITDC) offers an exciting opportunity to engage in database design, development, and support for the Pennsylvania State Police and associated vendors. This role is integral to the Solutions Management team, focusing on all phases of database development activities, including planning, implementation, and quality assurance, while also allowing for independent analysis and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide database design, development, and support for databases developed for the Pennsylvania State Police and supporting vendors.
• Support the application development lifecycle including planning, design, development, and implementation.
• Conduct data migration, quality assurance, and data cleanup activities.
• Perform data administration tasks and limited database operations.
• Participate in status meetings to ensure project objectives are met.
• Independently analyze issues and implement corrections efficiently.

Requirements

• One year as an Applications Developer 1 or Information Technology Generalist 1; or
• Four years of information technology experience including one year in database analysis, design, and maintenance; or
• Two years of information technology experience including one year in database analysis, design, and maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
• A bachelor's degree in any information technology field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with database management systems such as SQL Server or Oracle.
• Familiarity with data migration tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of data quality and data governance best practices.
