About the position

The Database Analyst position at FIS is a critical role within the Enterprise Technology Office (ETO) Reporting team, which is dedicated to providing accurate and timely data analysis and reporting across the organization. This small, specialized team focuses on extracting insights from large and complex datasets to support strategic decision-making related to the Client Portal and Infinity IdP products. The team utilizes advanced data visualization tools to present information clearly and concisely, empowering colleagues and stakeholders with the necessary information to make informed decisions. The commitment to delivering high-quality results and continuously improving processes is a core value of the team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and documenting the integration between Oracle and Postgres operational databases and Snowflake. Your primary duties will include ensuring the health and stability of the Snowflake database warehouse, generating reports using BI tools such as ThoughtSpot and WebFocus, and fulfilling data requests by running SQL queries against existing databases or creating new SQL queries for partner teams. You will also participate in quality assurance and develop test application code in a client-server environment, providing expertise in negotiating and defending the tables and fields provided in the database. Additionally, you will adapt business requirements developed by business systems analysts and develop data specifications and table attributes for applications. This role requires modeling databases and developing tables, stored procedures, views, triggers, and other database objects. You will maintain database dictionaries, monitor overall database standards and procedures, and integrate systems through database design. Collaboration with other developers to integrate databases with other applications is also a key aspect of this position.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Strong SQL knowledge and capability to write new scripts across complex datasets.
  • Ability to consult on database best practices and performance tuning.
  • Experience in triaging incidents with developers and colleagues.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and knowledge share.
  • Ability to integrate with companion technologies such as AWS S3, Azure, BI tools, and Python scripting.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycle.
  • Proficiency in creating and supporting database technical environments.
  • Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects.
