About the position

As a POET Biofuels Database Analyst, you will work in a database DevOps capacity, performing tasks applicable to both a database developer and a database administrator. This role is critical as you will be deeply involved in many aspects of our business, helping to manage and maintain some of our most essential systems. This is an on-site role located in Wichita, KS. In this position, you will monitor, optimize, and maintain database systems and performance. You will modify databases according to requests and perform tests to ensure their functionality. Diagnosing and troubleshooting database errors will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will collaborating with developers to improve applications and establish best practices. You will also be tasked with developing technical and training materials, managing database access, and providing data management support to users. Additionally, you will research and suggest new database technologies, services, and protocols, create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards, and automate repetitive database tasks. Addressing issues escalated from our internal or external customers or our support team will also be part of your duties.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with database development and administration
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study
  • 1+ year of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SSMS, SSRS, and SSIS
  • Microsoft PowerBI Report Server experience
  • Experience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory managed permissions
  • Familiarity with source code management concepts
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to embrace change
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
