About the position

The Database Analyst at Cahuilla Casino Hotel plays a crucial role in providing insights and reporting on various activities related to the property. This position aims to foster a data-driven environment by creating models and analyses that drive revenue, profit, and customer engagement. The analyst will work closely with the Marketing Management and Director of Operations to analyze data and support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Produces market performance and forecasting reports, gaming revenue projections, and analysis reports.
  • Investigates and conducts deep dives into data across marketing channels to understand customer engagement and analyze user behaviors throughout the customer journey.
  • Identifies and evaluates revenue growth opportunities, reinvestment mix, and competitive market analysis.
  • Proactively seeks out margin enhancement opportunities and provides recommendations to relevant departments, implementing changes through data-driven solutions.
  • Responsible for short- and long-term financial analysis for the property and financial data reporting.
  • Performs queries of various databases to extract data for use in analysis.
  • Creates procedures and metrics of player data performance by coordinating with directors, managers, and other departmental team members.
  • Identifies trends, patterns, and advises the company, recommending actions to management based on relevant data.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
  • Maintains confidentiality, accuracy, and thoroughness of documents and/or tasks assigned.
  • Handles all other related duties or special projects assigned by the Marketing Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Tableau and SQL (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collect relevant data, structure data models, execute, and interpret quantitative data.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated capability, initiative, self-motivation, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous gaming experience (preferred).
  • Pursuing ongoing skill development in financial modeling and analysis.
