About the position

The Database Analyst at Arkansas State University-Beebe is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems, particularly focusing on the Oracle database environment and the Ellucian Banner software suite. This role involves troubleshooting database issues, supporting third-party applications, and providing technical leadership in database projects. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain database systems.
• Monitor and resolve internal database problems.
• Support the integration and maintenance of third-party applications that integrate with the Banner ERP.
• Troubleshoot database issues and offer effective solutions quickly and accurately.
• Provide support for the Oracle database and related tools.
• Review and test updates and patches for the Banner ERP and related third-party products.
• Provide senior technical leadership for Ellucian Banner products.
• Assist in writing scripts for data analysis/repair and integration to third-party software.
• Write data reports for both one-off and repeated use.
• User training in Oracle database query.

Requirements

• Associate degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
• A minimum of three years experience in database management.
• Verifiable experience supporting an Oracle database environment and related tools.
• Understanding of the technical architecture of the Ellucian Banner software suite.
• Proven problem-solving and analytic abilities.
• Excellent critical thinking aptitude.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with tools such as GIT, Ellucian Solution Manager (ESM), Application Navigator, and Ellucian Ethos Identity and Integration services.
• Demonstrated experience supporting the integration of learning management systems such as Blackboard or Canvas.
• Ability to manage multiple complex and time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
