About the position

The Database Analyst position at the Institute for Biomedical Informatics involves supporting program evaluation research and enhancing the quality of services for Medicaid beneficiaries. The role requires expertise in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, particularly from Kentucky Medicaid data, and involves designing, testing, implementing, and maintaining data collection and reporting systems. The analyst will also utilize business intelligence tools like Tableau for data visualization and will work with various stakeholders to provide technical support.

Responsibilities

• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction from health data claims, specifically Kentucky Medicaid data.
• Design, test, implement, and maintain data collection and reporting systems to support research activities.
• Visualize data using business intelligence tools like Tableau.
• Conduct statistical data analysis and support clients with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science).
• 4 years of experience in database management and analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Experience with BI/BA tools such as Tableau and Informatica.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Working knowledge of Python, R, and SAS.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with healthcare data.
