About the position

The University of Alaska is seeking two Database and Applications Specialists to join the Enterprise Applications team. This role focuses on the successful implementation of data warehouse initiatives, serving as a backup database administrator, and managing enterprise-wide tools. Responsibilities

  • Implement a data warehouse to enhance data availability and modernize access processes.
  • Serve as a backup database administrator and develop skills in database management.
  • Manage enterprise-wide tools and applications that require advanced technical skills.

  • Organize and prioritize multiple work streams effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with databases and data ETL processes.
  • Technical understanding of extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources.
  • Experience managing enterprise database systems such as Oracle, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Technical DBA certifications related to managing Oracle, Microsoft, or PostgreSQL databases.
