About the position

The Database and Process Tool Analyst at The Pokémon Company International plays a crucial role in supporting the development and management of the internal Pokémon Trading Card Game database and process tool. This position involves creating and managing Jira tickets, handling user feature requests, and ensuring the smooth operation of the database through bug fixes and documentation updates. The analyst will also conduct training sessions, collaborate with various teams, and oversee long-term data projects, all while maintaining a strong understanding of the Pokémon brand and its trading card game.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and test/QC Jira tickets.
  • Manage user feature requests and create bug reports.
  • Review ticket backlog and participate in sprint planning.
  • Interface with other teams to fix bugs and data issues.
  • Write release notes for each new release of the database and process tool.
  • Update user manuals and other documentation as needed.
  • Conduct monthly training classes for new users.
  • Host discovery sessions with teams on feature requests or complex issues.
  • Assist other teams with data issues in the database and process tool.
  • Support long-term integration projects for the database and process tool.

Requirements

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant professional experience or a demonstrated equivalent level of expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
  • Experience supporting development of a proprietary tool at a large or mid-size company preferred.
  • Experience with Agile/iterative development methodologies and tools (Jira, Jira Service Desk).
  • Knowledge of Pokémon brand required.
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with the Pokémon Trading Card Game required.
  • Experience with data management and relational databases.
  • Strong attention to detail and great analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of other trading card games a plus.
  • Experience working with stakeholders in different time zones preferred.
