About the position

Titan Technologies, LLC (Titan) is seeking an experienced, self-directed Data Architect to support the Army Data and Analytics Platform contract in Newport News, VA. As a member of our team, you will assist the Army in a full range of program/product management and administration, financial, technical, and business transformation. This position is located in Newport News, VA. The Data Architect will design and build databases for data storage or processing, develop strategies for warehouse implementation, data acquisition and access, and data archiving and recovery. You will build data models and define the structure, attributes, and nomenclature of data elements. Additionally, you may evaluate new data sources for adherence to the organization's quality standards and ease of integration. In this role, you will design and implement data architectures that efficiently handle large volumes of unstructured, text-based data, including natural language processing (NLP) systems. You will develop and oversee methodologies for text data extraction, processing, and analysis, utilizing technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, or custom NLP tools. Optimizing data systems for AI performance is crucial, ensuring seamless integration with AI applications. You will implement and manage data storage solutions optimized for unstructured data, focusing on performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Leading strategic initiatives for data governance, management, and architecture will be part of your responsibilities. You will analyze data sets critically to assess their value and contribution to AI applications, collaborating with senior leadership to align the data architecture strategy with business objectives, emphasizing the value of unstructured data. Providing technical leadership and guidance to data engineering teams is essential, as is keeping abreast of the latest trends and technologies in unstructured data management and analysis to ensure our approaches remain cutting-edge. Monitoring and optimizing the performance of data architectures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and security regulations, and addressing complex challenges in data architecture with strategic and innovative solutions will also be key aspects of your role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in engineering, design and analysis of IT or related systems experience.
• Experience in all phases of design, development, analysis and documentation, and development of standards and guidelines for tasks being performed.
• Experience in providing technical leadership and guidance to data engineers.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools and languages.
• Software Development Framework certification.
• INCOSE Expert System Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification.
• Experience Integrating solutions using Cloud Based Technology such as: Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), On-demand self-service, Broad network access, Resource pooling, Rapid elasticity, Measured Service, Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
• Experience Integrating solutions using structured and unstructured Big Data.
• Experience Integrating solutions using Automation, Augmentation and Artificial Intelligence (AAA) technologies.
• Experience with and strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle.
