About the position

The Database Architect - Assistant Director at EY is responsible for designing and implementing databases that support opportunity identification and targeting applications. This role involves creating data models, optimizing database performance, and ensuring scalability and availability of the database infrastructure. The position requires collaboration with Power BI developers and entails documentation of database architecture and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement databases for opportunity identification and targeting applications.
  • Create data models that define data organization and relationships.
  • Design and implement ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Optimize database performance through query tuning and indexing.
  • Ensure database scalability and availability through clustering and replication.
  • Collaborate with Power BI developers to meet their data requirements.
  • Document database design, data models, and ETL processes.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database-related issues.
  • Stay updated on trends in database management and business intelligence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in database architecture and management.
  • Ability to translate opportunity analytics into SQL databases.
  • Experience in implementing translation matrices for data ingestion.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance/Quality Control in database management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ETL tools and automation of data integration tasks.
  • Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
