The Database Architect for Epic EMR at YNHHS is a pivotal role that involves providing comprehensive administration and oversight for databases and operating environments. This position is crucial for the creation and maintenance of end-user resources, which encompass filesystems, databases, security integration, tables, indices, database schemata, backups, recoveries, and special analyses for large enterprise software applications. The role requires designing and providing infrastructure support, leading projects, and assisting in the evaluation and response to multi-system server and network environment events that may affect the quality of databases and their supporting environments. The Database Architect will also design solution mechanisms and provide guidance, training, and information to users, ITS engineers, desktop support, desktop engineering, and help desk associates. In this role, the Database Architect will assist in understanding user requirements and develop recommendations for hardware, software, database configurations, and tool solutions to meet those needs. The position involves providing skilled technical assistance in the development of multi-system data deployments and management services, including design, planning, implementation, and support. The architect will resolve security design issues, data modeling, application adaptation to local standards, and access problems while coordinating data additions, changes, and removals. Additionally, the architect will track database backup, performance, and integrity, assist in server, client, and application upgrades, and monitor server performance using enterprise monitoring and database vendor tools. The Database Architect will lead and assist other members of the database team on infrastructure projects, server/application integration issues, and server data backup and recoveries. They will help develop and maintain server standards and procedures while identifying and implementing database best practices. Furthermore, the architect will support ITS staff members in performing monthly performance, capacity, and availability analysis of the corporate server environment for all related components. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity and performance of the database systems that support the organization's mission and values.
