About the position

The Database Architect/Management IV is an individual contributor role responsible for driving strategic data-informed decisions and ensuring the availability and security of data resources. This position involves analyzing and developing database designs, data models, and relational data definitions to support system requirements, while also providing ongoing database support, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The role influences data strategy and develops automated business and reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic data-informed decisions by consulting with clients to identify key business needs and developing outcomes and process measures.
  • Provide ongoing database support, maintenance, and troubleshooting by identifying and fixing problems and ensuring optimized database performance.
  • Develop, implement, and automate business and reporting solutions by collaborating with stakeholders and creating data reports and visualizations.
  • Inform and influence the data strategy by establishing data storage methodologies and ensuring adherence to data rules and access guidelines.
  • Analyze and develop database designs and data models in support of systems requirements, ensuring data integrity across databases.
  • Ensure data and resources are available to users securely through data provisioning and ongoing security measures.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Social/Physical/Life Science, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in database configuration, architecture or management, or a directly related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two (2) years database maintenance experience, including performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Two (2) years experience working with SPSS.
  • Two (2) years experience working with SQL.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Two (2) years experience working in a matrixed organization.
  • Two (2) years experience working with statistical analysis software.
  • One (1) year health care experience.
  • Two (2) years experience working with business intelligence tools.
  • Two (2) years experience working with Open Source Tools (e.g., R, Python).
  • Two (2) years experience working with cloud database services (e.g., Microsoft Azure).
  • Two (2) years experience working with SAS.
  • Two (2) years relational database experience.
  • Two (2) years experience working with data extraction and manipulation language and ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Ab Initio).
  • Two (2) years programming experience.
