About the position

The Database Architect (MongoDB) role is focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining MongoDB databases for a B2C online shopping platform. This position requires a strong understanding of MongoDB architecture and performance optimization, along with experience in Kubernetes and container management. The role involves ensuring database security, monitoring performance, and providing support for critical applications.

Responsibilities

• Support Mongo clusters which serve critical applications.
• Resolve all security vulnerabilities, including MongoDB server and OS patching, ensuring adherence to client security standards.
• Monitor Mongo clusters to identify potential issues and prevent incidents.
• Develop tools necessary to migrate data from Mongo to PostGres.
• Collaborate with the application team to address incidents.
• Participate in rotating 24x7 on-call support.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of MongoDB architecture, including replica sets, sharded clusters, and data distribution.
• Proficient in MongoDB database design, deployment, maintenance, upgrade, monitoring, backup and restore, and patching management.
• Experience in MongoDB database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB security enhancement using X509 and TLS authentication.
• Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining applications on Kubernetes platforms.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes concepts, including pods, services, deployments, applications, and stateful sets.
• Experience with container runtimes like Docker.
• Administration experience with MySQL and SQLite.
• Minimum of three years of experience with programming languages such as Python, SQL, Perl, and Shell.
• Quick learner with the ability to support large-scale distributed database platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
