About the position

The Data Architect position at Ft. Detrick in Frederick, MD, is a critical role within the MEDLOG IT PMO customer team. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about accuracy and is open to constructive feedback, as the goal is to produce the highest quality outcomes. The selected candidate will play an essential role in the Shelf Life Extension Program (SLEP) Implementation team, focusing on integrating SLEP capabilities into LogiCole. The program is based at Fort Detrick, Maryland, and while the position is primarily on-site three days a week, there may be expanded telework options available for exceptional candidates on a case-by-case basis. In this role, the Data Architect will support full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) services for SLEP-defined priorities. This includes responsibilities such as design, development, testing, verification, and making necessary changes to networks, organizations, and access. The ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including government and contractor personnel, is crucial. The Data Architect will also be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing improvements, new features, and changes to existing SQL and NoSQL databases. Additionally, the role involves integrating SLEP organizations into the LogiCole organizational structure and migrating SLEP on-hand inventory balances into LogiCole. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently while also collaborating seamlessly with the team to achieve mission objectives. This includes working with external partners to gather requirements and ensuring that the team remains accountable for the work that needs to be accomplished.

Responsibilities

  • Support full SDLC services for SLEP defined priorities including design, development, test, verification, network, organization, and access changes.
  • Communicate effectively with various government and contractor support personnel including Developers, Business Analysts, Testers, Engineers, Operations Administrators, and Leadership.
  • Plan, develop, and implement improvements, new features, and changes to existing SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Integrate SLEP organizations into LogiCole organizational structure.
  • Migrate SLEP on-hand inventory balances into LogiCole.
  • Operate independently as well as seamlessly with the team to complete the mission.
  • Work with external partners to gather requirements.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or 5 years of experience in information technology systems development.
  • Proficiency in developing, documenting, and modeling SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in SQL, JavaScript, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience using DevOps tools and principles.
  • Experience applying Agile design methodology and tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Experience or knowledge of SAFe.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Defense Medical Logistics - Enterprise Support applications and support of DoD medical treatment facilities.
