About The Position

The Database Architect Senior at ENGIE FlexGen in Houston, Texas, is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of the database architecture for the central data repository. This role supports the data modeling needs of the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) analytics team and involves a variety of software development activities, often serving as the sole development resource on projects. The position requires collaboration with the Software Director of Engineering and adherence to ENGIE's ethics and safety policies.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering, mathematics, information technology, or a related technical field with at least five years of experience in database design and implementation.
• In lieu of a degree, seven years of experience in designing and implementing applications and database solutions in a professional setting.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as PERL, Python, R, or similar languages.
• Understanding of software configuration management systems such as Git or Subversion.
• Familiarity with MathWorks tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Coder, toolboxes, Designer) for modeling and simulation.
