About the position

The Database Administrator role involves maintaining and optimizing database systems by determining structural requirements, developing solutions, and ensuring performance. The position requires collaboration with clients to analyze their operations and applications, designing database systems that meet their needs, and providing ongoing support and training to users.

Responsibilities

• Determine database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming.
• Review objectives with clients and evaluate current systems.
• Develop database solutions by designing proposed systems and defining database physical structure and functional capabilities.
• Ensure security, back-up, and recovery specifications are in place for database systems.
• Install database systems by developing flowcharts and applying optimum access techniques.
• Coordinate installation actions and document all actions taken during the process.
• Maintain database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems.
• Calculate optimum values for parameters and evaluate, integrate, and install new releases.
• Complete maintenance tasks and answer user questions regarding database systems.
• Prepare users by conducting training sessions on database usage and functionalities.
• Provide database support by coding utilities and responding to user inquiries.

Requirements
