About the position

The Database Administrator will serve as a lead position responsible for designing and developing secure data lake systems, migrating data on MS SQL platforms, and interpreting Oracle scripts. This role requires a strong understanding of legacy architecture, system dependencies, and data relationships, and involves collaboration with various teams to enhance and administer data dictionaries and database models.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, enhance, design, and administer data dictionaries, as well as physical and logical database models.
• Collaborate with different teams both inside and outside of the department to understand and assimilate data.
• Design and develop secure data lake systems.
• Migrate data on MS SQL platforms and understand and interpret Oracle scripts.
• Build scalable and secure systems.

Requirements

• Strong experience with ETL and migrations, predominantly with MS SQL Server, with some Oracle background.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure and data migration on-prem to cloud.
• Very strong scripting skills necessary.
• Ability to design and develop secure data lake systems.
• Understanding of legacy architecture, system dependencies, and data relationships.
• Ability to work with disparate teams - infrastructure, DBAs, cybersecurity, and outside agencies like SSA.
• Excellent communication skills - written and spoken.
• 7 years team management experience.
• 7 years of experience with SQL Server 2016 and above.
• 7 years T-SQL, Stored Procedures experience.
• 7 years DB Troubleshooting, performance and tuning experience.
• Oracle Database design in the past.
