About the position

The Database Architect position involves working on a dynamic project with the DHA in a hybrid work environment. The role requires a deep understanding of various database technologies and aims to solve automation problems through the application of computer science principles and information management. The architect will be responsible for designing, testing, and integrating database systems while ensuring compliance with security standards.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of computer science principles and information management to solve automation problems.
• Interface with minicomputer and mainframe systems to meet project objectives.
• Define, plan, organize, design, refresh/modify, test, and integrate database systems and computer hardware systems.
• Assist in formulating architectural design, functional specifications, and documentation of systems.
• Use detailed specifications to refresh or modify portions of a system or program.
• Responsible for segments or phases of broader and more complex projects.
• Maintain compliance with DISA STIGs and complete annual security audits with the USARC Cyber Team.
• Implement DISA required server configurations.

Requirements

• Bachelor or postgraduate degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or engineering, or eight years of combined education and experience.
• 8-15 years of experience with complex or large-scale databases.
• Ability to perform software program refreshment, systems testing, and produce graphic and statistical reports.
• IAT Level II certification within 6 months of contract start date.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Federal Government systems and requirements.

• Knowledge of Azure infrastructure and security practices.
• Azure Web App configuration and management.
• Power BI reporting knowledge.
• Knowledge of CI/CD configuration.
• Continuous Risk Monitoring experience.
