About the position
The Database Architect at Knight Federal Solutions will play a crucial role in transitioning the Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) Learning Content Management System (LCMS) from an ORACLE database to a PostgreSQL database. This position requires a deep understanding of database management, technical analysis, and project management to ensure the successful implementation and performance of the database systems. The role emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and adherence to Department of Defense Information Assurance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the technical analysis and coding development for the JKO LCMS software transition from ORACLE to PostgreSQL.
- Performance tuning and monitoring of the database to ensure optimal operation.
- Document LCMS software, database configuration, and related software configurations.
- Develop error-free LCMS database procedures, functions, and packages.
- Prepare IA accreditation packages and conduct IA Retina Scans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in database management (or 12+ years of corporate experience in similar fields).
- Proficiency in various Database Management Systems (DBMS) such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL.
- Ability to write complex SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization of databases.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Bash) for automation.
- Strong monitoring and troubleshooting skills for database performance issues.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools like Excel and Power BI.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
- Must possess a US Secret clearance.
