The Database Architect position at Sierra Digital, Inc. in Houston, TX, is a full-time role focused on the installation, configuration, management, monitoring, and troubleshooting of SQL Server. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing relational database models tailored to meet specific business needs. This role requires a proactive approach to database management, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of database systems. The Database Architect will also be expected to travel to various unanticipated client sites, which adds a dynamic aspect to the job, allowing for diverse project experiences and client interactions. In this position, the Database Architect will leverage their expertise in various technologies to create efficient database solutions. The role demands a strong understanding of database architecture principles and the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Computer Science, Advanced Manufacturing & Enterprise Engineering, or a related field, along with a comprehensive knowledge of at least seven technologies from a specified list. This includes ETL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SQL Server, Visual Studio, Azure Database, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and PowerShell. The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders is essential for success in this role.
