About the position

The Database Architect will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing database systems to support high-volume OLTP systems. This role requires extensive experience in database operations and architecture, particularly in cloud environments. The position involves collaboration with teams to create automation for database provisioning and administration tasks, ensuring robust performance and reliability of database systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage database systems for high-volume OLTP applications.
  • Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues rapidly.
  • Document and maintain database policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Collaborate with teams to envision and create automation for provisioning and administration tasks.
  • Utilize Azure Data Factory, Analysis Service, and Microsoft Fabric for data management.
  • Work with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and CI/CD pipelines for database deployment.
  • Support both cloud and on-premises database architecture.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Database Operations.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred.
  • Extensive experience with MS SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Postgres, and Azure SQL.
  • Robust knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Analysis Service, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse systems and MPP database architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and database performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with IaC, CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, and Azure Resource Manager.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python.
  • Good judgment and decision-making ability.
