About the position

The Database Conversion Developer role focuses on the successful migration of large datasets from Oracle databases to PostgreSQL and MongoDB. This position requires hands-on experience in data conversion, building data models, and creating data pipelines, with a strong emphasis on cloud technologies such as Azure and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Successfully convert large datasets from Oracle database systems to PostgreSQL RDBMS.
• Utilize PostgreSQL tools and extensions, including foreign data wrappers and ora2pg.
• Assess existing Oracle databases to gauge complexity and estimate migration efforts.
• Determine the best migration target based on application nature, data type, and business logic.
• Prepare data migration strategies and designs to minimize downtime during migration.
• Migrate PL/SQL code, including Packages, Procedures, and Functions from Oracle to PostgreSQL.

Requirements

• Hands-on conversion experience from Oracle to PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Experience in building data models and data pipelines.
• Proficiency in cloud technologies, particularly Azure.
• Knowledge of AWS is preferred.
