About the position

KBR is seeking a Database Developer and Web Designer to support the DoD International AIMS Program Office. The candidate must have the ability to interface directly with customers and react quickly, professionally, and successfully in a fast-paced environment. Utilizing their expertise, the candidate will be responsible for the development of environments in cloud-native database applications, with a preference for Azure. As a Database Developer and Web Designer, you will be a critical part of our team responsible for evaluating customer requirements pertaining to complex technical challenges, including cloud-native development environments. The candidate must be able to define, generate, and review project requirements and provide detailed documentation. The candidate must have a strong understanding of cloud-native database applications, including the management and security of cloud infrastructures. Experience in developing cloud-native databases and maintaining basic security and recovery procedures is essential. The candidate must be comfortable working in a dynamic and fluid environment. Familiarity with DoD 5000.02 acquisition policies and processes is a plus, but not required. This position requires occasional travel (5-10%).

Responsibilities

  • Develop cloud-native database applications, preferably in Azure.
  • Interface directly with customers to gather and evaluate requirements.
  • Define, generate, and review project requirements and provide detailed documentation.
  • Manage and secure cloud infrastructures for database applications.
  • Maintain security and recovery procedures for cloud-native databases.
  • Work in a dynamic and fluid environment, adapting to changing requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Technical Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a related field, or 8 years of related professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience programming in Azure-supported languages (C#, PHP, Bash, Python, ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript).
  • Possess a minimum of a Secret clearance prior to employment.
  • IAT Level II certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP) or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of employment start date.
  • Experience with database management and architecture, including designing, implementing, and maintaining complex databases.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with DoD 5000.02 acquisition policies and processes.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in managing Azure cloud infrastructure from the Azure portal, PowerShell, or using the Command Line Interface (CLI).
