About the position

The Database Developer I at Altasciences is responsible for developing high-quality databases that support sponsors' research programs. This role involves collaboration with a multi-disciplinary study team to ensure efficient and analyzable data collection, compliance with clinical standards, and continuous improvement of data management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Build the clinical database in the specified database platform according to the contracted scope of work and timelines.
  • Ensure all visits, forms, and fields are created to capture protocol-required data and validation checks.
  • Set up data cleaning tools in the clinical database, including missing data checks and programmed edits.
  • Collaborate with clients and project teams to ensure efficient data collection.
  • Work with database platform support groups to resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure database compliance with CDASH, ICH/GCP, and sponsor standards.
  • Utilize standard forms and participate in improving the CRF library.
  • Identify and suggest designs for standard and non-standard data types for database design.
  • Participate in the database testing process to ensure functionality of forms and checks.
  • Update the database for protocol updates or client requests.
  • Complete documentation per department processes and track Data Management Change Requests.
  • Provide input for improving Data Management standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and report metrics as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in programming, health-related sciences, or a relevant field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Client-focused approach to work.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Understanding of clinical research and Data Management's role in the clinical study process.
  • Strong technical aptitude and adaptability to multiple data management platforms.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic programming knowledge (Javascript).
