About the position
The Database Developer for Infrastructure Automation at Walker Healthforce will play a crucial role in supporting a healthcare client by managing Azure SQL databases and related technologies. This contract position involves working closely with automation engineers to implement infrastructure as code, ensuring best practices in database setup, security, and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in Azure PaaS databases and infrastructure automation to enhance the client's database capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Install, deploy and configure Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance and related technologies
- Provide recommendations to application team on which database to use for production use cases
- Work with automation engineers to provide database options for infrastructure as code provisioning
- Establish standards for setting up databases in Azure along with networking best practices
- Implement good security practices and standards
- Support production Database Administrators in understanding Azure PaaS options and setup using best practices
- Set up disaster recovery solutions
- Assist with automation and infrastructure as code efforts as a database Subject Matter Expert
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Azure networking and security
Requirements
- Expertise with Azure PaaS databases (Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, etc.)
- Proficient in infrastructure automation (Ansible, Terraform)
- Strong Azure networking and security knowledge
- Development experience in C#, Java, or Python
- Independent and collaborative team skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Familiarity with deployment tools (e.g., Harness)
- Experience in database automation standards
- Knowledge of Azure services and cloud environments
- Understanding of DevOps and infrastructure automation
