About the position

The Database Developer at Cherry Creek School District is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and quality of data collected from district users and systems. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining databases, as well as producing reports and performing query/report writing. The position requires collaboration with users to troubleshoot and create solutions, ensuring data integrity and security while addressing long-term strategic data issues.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ETL/ELT solutions for managing data movement between various data systems.
• Map out the conceptual design for a planned database and refine the logical design into a specific data model.
• Create, perform, and manage routine data operations in bulk and in detail.
• Maintain data standards, including adherence to data protection as defined by the District.
• Track usage, performance, integrity, security, and incidents of critical applications.
• Assist in the development and management of data policy decisions and integrity measures.
• Address long-term and strategic data issues such as coding schemes and data integration.
• Consider both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users.
• Work with users to troubleshoot, design, and create interim solutions as needed.
• Write database documentation, including data standards and definitions for the data dictionary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Five years of experience with MS SQL Server Administration.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and typical office equipment.
• Advanced analytical/technical skills to collect and prepare productivity data.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work alone and with others, exercising good judgment and problem-solving ability.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SQL querying and reporting.
• Experience with C# programming.
• Experience with relational database design.
• Experience with Tableau, SSRS, and SSIS.
• Knowledge of data security.
