About the position

All Points Logistics is seeking a Database Developer to support the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on their new campus in Huntsville, AL. This position is critical to the success of the FBI mission, as it involves supporting IT networks, systems, and initiatives that include information systems operations, development, modernization, and IT security. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of new applications each fiscal year, which are used daily by thousands of personnel in law enforcement, intelligence, legal, and administrative roles. The applications require specialized technical expertise to ensure minimal disruption to FBI operations. In this role, you will be responsible for SQL and PL/SQL development, which includes creating backend reports to meet user needs, developing custom scripts to automate database management processes, and monitoring and troubleshooting database performance. You will also be tasked with optimizing and tuning stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and queries to support application development. Interfacing with customers, users, and developers will be essential, as will maintaining the database schema and design, and providing technical subject matter expertise on data ingestion from various sources. Additionally, the position involves SAFe 6.0 Facilitation Support, where you will guide and facilitate SAFe principles, manage work, and promote alignment and collaboration across multiple agile teams. These teams are focused on enhancing operational insight through data discoverability and enabling operational analysis and triage of data through visualization and analytics within Global Mission Analytics (GMA).

Responsibilities

  • Support IT networks, systems, and initiatives for the FBI.
  • Develop SQL and PL/SQL backend reports to support user needs.
  • Create custom scripts to automate database management processes.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance.
  • Optimize and tune stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and queries.
  • Maintain the database schema and design.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise on data ingestion from various sources.
  • Facilitate SAFe principles and support Agile teams.
  • Manage work and promote alignment across Agile Release Trains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline.
  • 1-10 years of experience in database development and management.
  • Active US DOD Top Secret Clearance or higher required.
  • Experience with Atlassian Software products (JIRA, Confluence, Service Desk, etc.).
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning.
  • Experience with geospatial applications such as ESRI ArcGIS and GeoServer.
  • Familiarity with AWS CloudFormation and MongoDB DBA tasks.
  • Experience with frontend technologies such as Vue.js, AngularJS, and D3.js.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a scrum participant and familiarity with software release processes.
  • Ability to work after hours when mission requires.
