About the position

The Database Developer - Level IV position at ABBTECH Professional Resources, Inc. is a remote role that requires a high level of expertise in database development and management, particularly within the context of the United States Postal Service (USPS). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures that ensure the security and integrity of company data and information systems. This role involves conducting risk management analyses and creating comprehensive business continuity, contingency, and disaster recovery plans. The developer will also be tasked with executing testing processes to validate these plans and identify any weaknesses or failure points. Additionally, the position requires the development of resumption plans, which includes identifying and securing necessary off-site resources and ensuring that action plans are effectively communicated to IT and operations teams. The work schedule is flexible, accommodating the needs of USPS management, which may require working nights, weekends, or holidays. The contractor will provide essential support for Finance & Payment Technology Services, focusing on application and system development, maintenance, and overall technical support. This includes enhancing and supporting existing production applications and creating new applications as required. The role demands adherence to USPS policies, particularly those related to the Software Delivery Framework and secure coding practices, ensuring that all development work aligns with these standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for data security and integrity.
  • Conduct risk management analysis and create business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Execute testing processes to validate disaster recovery plans and identify weaknesses.
  • Develop resumption plans and secure necessary off-site resources.
  • Communicate action plans to IT and operations teams.
  • Support Finance & Payment Technology Services for application and system development.
  • Enhance and support production applications and create new applications as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of thirteen (13) to twenty (20) years of relevant experience.
  • A degree from an accredited College/University in a related field, or four additional years of related experience if the degree is not applicable.
  • Extensive knowledge of Oracle eBS Financials, particularly in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and related modules.
  • Experience in RICE (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, and Extensions) for Data Migration and Data Conversions.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Developer Suite (Forms, Reports, JDeveloper, OAF).
  • Experience in Unix Shell Scripting and advanced Oracle SQL querying and performance tuning.
  • Expertise in creating Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, views, and Materialized Views.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred knowledge of iProcurement, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Fixed Assets, and other Oracle eBS Financials modules.
