About the position

The Database Developer - Level IV position is a temporary contract role that requires a highly skilled individual to support the Finance & Payment Technology Services for application and system development, maintenance, and overall technical support. The contractor will be responsible for enhancing and supporting production applications and creating new applications as needed. The work must be performed according to USPS policies based on the Software Delivery Framework and secure coding practices. The position offers flexible performance hours, allowing the supplier to work nights, weekends, or holidays as required by USPS management. In this role, the Database Developer will develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and programs to ensure the security and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology. This includes conducting risk management analysis and creating business continuity, contingency, and disaster recovery plans. The developer will also be responsible for developing and executing testing processes to validate these disaster recovery plans and identify weaknesses and failure points. Additionally, the contractor will create the organization's resumption plan, which involves identifying and securing necessary off-site resources and ensuring that action plans are communicated to IT and operations teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle eBS Financials, particularly in areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets. They should also possess strong skills in SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Developer Suite, along with experience in Unix Shell Scripting and advanced Oracle SQL querying and performance tuning. The role requires a minimum of thirteen to twenty years of relevant experience and a degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A minimum of thirteen (13) to twenty (20) years of relevant experience.
  • A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required, or four additional years of related experience if the degree is not in the applicable field.
  • Extensive experience using SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Developer Suite (Forms, Reports, JDeveloper, OAF).
  • Experience in RICE (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, and Extensions) for Data Migration and Data Conversions.
  • Expertise in creating Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, views, and Materialized Views.
  • Experience in programming with Oracle Tools such as XML Publisher and SQL*Loader.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred knowledge of Oracle eBS Financials modules such as iProcurement, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, and Fixed Assets.
  • Experience developing using WebADI.
  • Experience in Advanced Oracle SQL querying and performance tuning.
