Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances to ensure databases and data model connectivity and performance for dependent connecting .NET applications.
  • Ensure the database is optimized and provide analysis and examination of the server clusters to ensure replication processes are functioning normally across the network in the event of network failover.
  • Ensure databases, tables, and objects are backed up regularly to maintain data integrity.
  • Ensure the security of the database, software, and hardware are compliant with security measures using the risk management framework and NIST FIPS guidelines subject to audits and oversight.
  • Configure financial database tables and reports to allow for budgeting and finance staff to input raw data and create customized reports for briefings and financial status.
  • Configure contact roster database tables and reports that allow staff input of new contacts and create standardized report formats for daily use.
  • Develop a process for the general staff to input purchase orders, travel requests and expense forms, minimizing third party applications and allowing for custom reports for budgeting and finance staff.
  • Oversee database organizations, standards, controls, procedures and documentation.
  • Act as a resource to answer user questions about hardware and software issues.

Requirements

  • 6 + years of related experience as a database developer.
  • Current Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level I professional certification.
  • Must be able to provide experienced technical consulting in the definition, design, creation, and maintenance of a Microsoft SQL Server database environment.
  • Must be able to provide advice on data-based solutions to business problems and the operating and tuning of databases.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience integrating Microsoft SQL Server with existing .NET applications.
  • Experience building reports using MS SQL Reporting or another business intelligence tool.
  • Experience migrating SQL databases to new environments and integrating databases and data across various platforms.
