About the position

The Database Developer role at Synechron involves joining a technologically advanced team focused on developing and enhancing Lending applications. The position requires strong expertise in data modeling, database programming, and database concepts, with a particular emphasis on implementing mission-critical applications. The successful candidate will be expected to understand the banking technology landscape and provide creative solutions that integrate current capabilities with proprietary system builds.

Responsibilities

• Programming using SQL and PL/SQL and related technologies
• Query tuning and optimization
• Provide solutions to the data engineering challenges
• Work as part of a banking Agile Squad
• Collaborate with business and technology teams located globally
• Contribute to sprint grooming and planning discussions, daily stand-ups, and Agile ceremonies
• Lead IT deliverables

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working with highly available and large volume databases
• Deep understanding of database concepts and related technologies
• Strong experience in database SQL and PL/SQL programming with DB2 & SQL Server databases
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning and optimizing database queries
• Hands-on experience with high performance data processing
• Hands-on experience with tools for Version Control, Job Scheduling, etc.
• Experience in collaborating with partners and stakeholders across geography and time zones
• Good communication skills and ability to work across both Business Users and IT teams
• Practical working experience in Agile development methodologies
• Minimum BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of requirements of large enterprise applications (security, entitlements, etc.)
• Understanding of modern databases (NoSQL, Cloud based etc.)
• Exposure to Snowflake
