About the position

SAIC is looking for a motivated Database Developer to join their software development team. This role involves establishing database management systems, designing and building web-based applications, and ensuring the performance and quality of software deliverables. The position requires collaboration with team members and stakeholders to implement effective solutions within an agile framework.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an active member of the software development team participating in daily stand-ups.
• Establish database management systems, standards, requirements, guidelines, and quality assurance for database deliverables.
• Design, build and/or fix bugs in a web-based application utilizing cloud native services and architecture.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Document software designs, including design diagrams and data flow diagrams.
• Use Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools such as Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and GIT.
• Implement security and data protection measures.
• Provide development support for solutions deployed to production.
• Apply and promote good software engineering practices such as test automation and modularization.
• Collaborate and coordinate with colleagues on various solutions and problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 5 years' software development experience (or four additional years of professional experience in lieu of a degree).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a FDIC Public Trust that requires US citizenship.
• Hands-on PowerBI experience.
• System design and development with Microsoft .NET environment.
• Solid experience with MS SQL server and Azure SQL databases.
• 2+ years experience with scripting languages such as bash, python, and PowerShell.
• Experience with XML and JSON.
• Experience with SSRS and Power BI.
• Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills.
• Ability to work in team environments across diverse projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and a delivery mindset.
• Understanding of REST and SOAP API development.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Azure DevOps and pipelines.
• Agile development using Azure DevOps.
