The position involves designing both logical and physical databases, ensuring that they meet the requirements of the organization while optimizing for performance and scalability. The candidate will be responsible for coding database descriptions and specifying user access levels to ensure data security and integrity. This role requires a thorough review of existing database programs, testing them for errors, and implementing corrections as necessary to maintain optimal functionality. Additionally, the candidate will modify database programs to enhance processing performance, utilizing technologies such as Oracle, Sybase, and SQL. In this role, the individual will also engage in data modeling and warehousing applications, leveraging ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools such as Informatica, Data Stage, and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI). This involves working closely with data architects and business analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database solutions. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data flows seamlessly across systems and that the databases are designed to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
