The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies is seeking a Database Developer to support the 711th Human Performance Wing (HPW) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. This role involves coordinating with the AWARE data team to develop data processes that access, acquire, transform, and rationalize data from various Application Virtualization Hosting Environment (AVHE) sources into usable maintained data sets on a monthly basis. The Database Developer will identify the necessary databases for AWARE analysis from the Defense Health Agency (DHA) AVHE, ensuring a stable connection to these databases and developing appropriate queries to extract data into accessible datasets for analysis. The role requires a commitment to maintaining the stability, validity, and quality of the data through rigorous validation processes. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Database Developer will acquire knowledge and expertise in the datasets created and the DHA data sources, providing necessary insights to analysts to ensure reliable and timely analysis. The position also involves drafting reports, preparing presentations, and presenting findings through briefings and technical reports, as well as contributing to the development of end products such as reports and white papers. The Database Developer will provide consultation support regarding data products produced by AWARE and interface with USAFSAM/FESO leadership and staff as needed. Other duties may be assigned as required. This position requires a Master's degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or statistics, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Experience with medical data and statistical analysis is highly desired, as is familiarity with health and visual analytics related fields and DAF-related data. The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in database creation, maintenance, validation, and design, as well as proficiency in SQL or a SQL-based programming language and Statistical Analysis System/Enterprise Guide (SAS/EG).
