About the position

Our client is seeking a Database Developer to join their team! The Database Developer will be a critical part of a fast-moving Marine Corps product development team. This team is responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation, and support for a wide range of cloud-based data integrations, data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and delivery of Business Intelligence (BI) services to Marines globally. The role requires a strong understanding of database management systems and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the successful delivery of data solutions that meet the needs of the Marine Corps. The Database Developer will also be involved in troubleshooting and optimizing existing database systems to enhance performance and reliability. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to important projects that support the mission of the Marine Corps and improve operational efficiency through effective data management.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement cloud-based data integrations and data pipelines.
  • Support the development and operation of data warehousing solutions.
  • Deliver Business Intelligence (BI) services to Marines globally.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and optimize database systems.
  • Manage database permissions, roles, and security protocols.
  • Work within Data Lake and Data Warehouse environments.
  • Utilize cloud environments, preferably AWS, for database solutions.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer/Software Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science from an accredited College or University.
  • Secret Level Clearance.
  • Six (6) years of experience in DoD C4ISR systems or information technologies, including Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Support, Test and Evaluation, and Logistics support of C5ISR requirements.
  • Three (3) years of technical experience in support of DoD C4ISR systems or information technologies.
  • Strong DDL and DML SQL skills.
  • Experience with OLAP and Data Warehouse development and operation, preferably Redshift.
  • Strong experience with database permissions, roles, and security.
  • Experience working within Cloud environments, preferably AWS.

Nice-to-haves

  • Data Analytics experience or the provisioning of data for Data Analytics.
  • Dashboarding with tools such as Amazon Quicksight.
