About the position

The Database Developer is a key member of the I.T. organization responsible for the development, administration, and operational support of all databases. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining database systems while ensuring data integrity, performance, and reliability. The Database Developer collaborates with various functional teams to plan, test, and implement database modifications, playing a crucial role in supporting the technological needs of multiple private jet brands.

Responsibilities

• Plan, test, and implement the safe modification of multiple database environments during software upgrade cycles.
• Create, deploy, and modify SQL queries.
• Implement performance improvements and DDL modifications on SQL queries.
• Develop SQL code that is efficient, smart, and impactful.
• Monitor the performance, scalability, and security of SQL Server instances.
• Learn about the private jet / fractional jet industry and develop SQL solutions to enhance the capabilities of operations and owner services teams.

Requirements

• Experience in database development, database design, and database performance tuning with SQL Server in an on-line service environment.
• Thorough understanding of Microsoft SQL Server 2019-2022 and SQL Always On Availability Groups.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server security, performance monitoring and optimization techniques, indexes, constraints, transactions, stored procedures, triggers, cursors, locking, and query tuning.
• Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment.
• Self-motivated and independent with exceptional relationship management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills conducive to a team culture.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

• PowerShell development and automation experience.
• Prior experience in travel or aviation.
• Experience with geolocation data and services.
