About the position

The Database Developer will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing a legacy Progress database system used by local government. This position requires collaboration with various state agencies and law enforcement to implement necessary updates and enhancements while ensuring system integrity and performance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the existing Progress database, ensuring the integrity and performance of the system.
• Understand and work with legacy code that integrates both business and database logic.
• Implement state court system mandates and enhancement requests under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with state agencies, Local Police Department, and prosecutors to update the court system as required.
• Perform a mixture of bug fixes and system enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
• Communicate effectively with business units to gather requirements and provide technical support.
• Learn and adapt to new database languages and technologies as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with SQL Server or Oracle.
• Experience creating tables, stored procedures, and packages.
• Previous experience communicating with business units and translating technical language into layman's terms.
• 5+ years of experience with Web or C#/.NET.
• Experience maintaining Linux Servers, specifically with Progress Open Edge.
