The Database Developer position is a critical role within our Agile Squad, focusing on programming and optimizing databases to meet the demands of a high-volume banking environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming using SQL and PL/SQL, as well as related technologies, to ensure the efficient operation of our databases. This role requires a deep understanding of database concepts and the ability to provide innovative solutions to data engineering challenges. As part of an Agile development team, the Database Developer will collaborate closely with both business and technology teams located globally. This collaboration will involve participating in sprint grooming and planning discussions, daily stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies. The candidate must possess strong communication skills and the ability to lead IT deliverables effectively, ensuring that all team members are aligned and informed throughout the development process. The role also demands hands-on experience with performance tuning and optimizing database queries, as well as familiarity with tools for version control and job scheduling. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with highly available databases and will be adept at handling the complexities associated with large enterprise applications. In addition to technical skills, the Database Developer will be expected to actively contribute to the Agile methodologies employed by the team, ensuring that all deliverables meet the high standards expected in the banking sector. This position is a contract role lasting 12 months, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
