About the position

We are currently seeking a Database Developer to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for providing functional and technical expertise to projects and assignments pertaining to critical Business units in the organization. You will bring both engineering and IT perspective to the services and state of the art solutions provided by the department. ISO New England's Day Ahead & FTR Applications team is focused, passionate, team-oriented, and results-driven. Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordinating, and performing complex technical assignments related to software applications in support of the Day Ahead Market Admin, FTR/ARR Market Admin, Forecasting Office, and Markets Monitoring groups
  • Analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, recommending solutions and implementing fixes associated with Market System applications
  • 24 x7 support for Day Ahead and FTR Market applications as needed
  • Assisting in the development of RFPs and evaluation of results
  • Coordinating with consultants and vendors on project deliverables
  • Lead IT Support activities for one or more business areas
  • Follow the Change Management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) policies and procedures during the course of the work

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of working experience as a PL/SQL Developer or similar role
  • Working experience in Oracle, SQL, Postgres, PL/SQL development and Microsoft SQL server
  • Experience with tools like PL/SQL Developer, Oracle SQL Developer, and etc
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with software version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a Team Lead
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with challenging situations and communicating different problems to a wider audience
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Programming experience in Electric Utility Industry or Power System Markets
