About the position

As a Database Developer at NS2 Mission, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions that form the backbone of our information systems. This position requires a deep understanding of database management systems, data modeling, and a commitment to ensuring data integrity. You will be part of a dynamic team based in McLean, VA, working on various database technologies and contributing to the overall success of our data management initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain database solutions.
• Provide operational and maintenance support in a production system.
• Create and maintain Oracle database components of the technology stack.
• Perform system analysis and cost calculations.
• Manage data integrity, permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring.
• Design, create, modify, and remove database objects including tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
• Analyze existing databases and data needs to develop new database architecture and systems.

Requirements

• Experience providing operational and maintenance support in a production system.
• Demonstrated experience with SQL and PL/SQL queries, procedures, and functions.
• Experience with Oracle databases and Oracle Text Search/Indexing.
• Experience with non-relational databases like NoSQL.
• Demonstrated experience with operating systems like Windows and Linux.
• Experience with application servers and IT management tools such as DevOps.
• Thorough experience with data management and database design.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
• Demonstrated experience providing customer service.
• Experience briefing technical topics to a non-technical audience.
• Experience in life cycle management process for technology changes.
• Experience with managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills.
