About the position

The Database Developer role at Robert Half involves integrating, developing reports, and custom label coding as part of an application modernization and ERP implementation project. This position is a long-term contract opportunity based in Madison, Wisconsin, focusing on optimizing database performance and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities

• Crystal reports report writing and clean-up
• Develop, implement, and optimize stored procedures and functions using SQL
• Build appropriate and useful reporting deliverables
• Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
• Develop procedures and scripts for data migration
• Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development
• Participate in application modernization and ERP implementation projects
• Collaborate with team members to determine best practices and client requirements for software
• Develop technical specifications and schedules for projects
• Learn and develop skills in information technology to include varied programming languages
• Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements
• Research and suggest new database products, services, and protocols.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Database Developer or in a related role
• Proficiency in SQL Developer
• Experience with Crystal Reports
• Strong report writing skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
• Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Experience in working with large data sets and databases
• Problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Knowledge of the latest industry trends and technologies in database development preferred
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and best practices is a plus.
