About the position

The Database Developer at Phoenix Logistics, LLC is responsible for designing, updating, integrating, and testing databases to meet project requirements. This role involves collaboration within a small Agile team to achieve strategic project goals while fostering an innovative and entrepreneurial work environment. The position supports the software development team remotely from Orlando, FL, and includes responsibilities such as database monitoring, performance tuning, and participation in team activities to enhance product quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform database design, update, integration, and testing to satisfy project requirements.
• Collaborate with a small team of software professionals in an Agile development environment.
• Shape the design, processes, and tools used for the project.
• Participate in brainstorming and consensus-building activities to improve products and processes.
• Implement and monitor database architectures and provide system documentation.
• Support backups and restores of the database.
• Provide database monitoring and performance tuning.
• Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, table DDL, constraints, and views.
• Manage Problem Ticket activity from planning to testing.
• Handle all forms of data manipulation and migrate data into and out of the database.
• Work with the Atlassian tool set in an Agile Development Environment.
• Participate in government and industry teams to resolve data issues.
• Establish and support data management tools, plans, and processes.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to support software development and deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7 years of experience in database development and design.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
