About the position

The Database Developer is an integral member of the I.T. organization and is responsible for performing development, administrative, and operational support for all databases. This role involves contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of our database systems, ensuring the integrity, performance, and reliability of our data infrastructure. The Database Developer will work closely with all functional teams to plan, test, and implement database modifications, playing a crucial role in supporting the technological needs of multiple established private jet brands. In this position, you will be tasked with planning, testing, and implementing safe modifications of multiple database environments during software upgrade cycles. You will create, deploy, and modify SQL queries, implement performance improvements, and make DDL modifications on SQL queries. Your responsibilities will also include developing efficient and impactful SQL code, monitoring the performance, scalability, and security of SQL Server instances, and learning about the private jet and fractional jet industry to develop SQL solutions that enhance the capabilities of our operations and owner services teams. Your work will be highly visible, as our operations systems are core to our business.

Responsibilities

• Plan, test, and implement safe modifications of multiple database environments during software upgrade cycles.
• Create, deploy, and modify SQL queries.
• Implement performance improvements and DDL modifications on SQL queries.
• Develop SQL code that is efficient, smart, and impactful.
• Monitor the performance, scalability, and security of SQL Server instances.
• Learn about the private jet / fractional jet industry and develop SQL solutions to enhance the capabilities of our operations and owner services teams.

Requirements

• Experience in database development, database design, and database performance tuning with SQL Server in an on-line service environment.
• Thorough understanding of Microsoft SQL Server 2019-2022 and SQL Always On Availability Groups.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server security, performance monitoring and optimization techniques, indexes, constraints, transactions, stored procedures, triggers, cursors, locking, and query tuning.
• Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment.
• Self-motivated and independent with exceptional relationship management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and well-developed interpersonal skills conducive to a team culture.
• Excellent organizational skills and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

• PowerShell development and automation experience.
• Prior experience in travel or aviation.
• Experience with geolocation data and services.
