About the position

The Data Development and Administration Intern position offers a unique opportunity to engage in developing custom software applications for a team of engineers, scientists, and technical staff. This role focuses on software design, programming, and the integration of new web-based technologies, providing a platform for interns to enhance their skills and grow their careers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test a range of custom web-based applications using docker-based services.
• Design and develop custom Postgres databases for web-based applications with JavaScript integration.
• Assist with programming user interfaces for custom applications.
• Support Docker containerization of database and web services for rapid deployment and ease of upgrade.
• Conduct verification testing, deployment, and user support.
• Provide and author technical documentation, and participate in design, code, and software peer reviews.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as a rising senior in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• At least two years of experience with Postgres roles and table design.
• At least one year of experience in the administration of Linux systems.
• At least one year of experience in developing Linux software applications or deploying docker-based services.
• Familiarity with software version control tools (e.g., Git, GitLab).
• Ability to debug software and troubleshoot software-related issues.
