About the position

Recro Corporation is seeking a motivated Database Engineer/Administrator to join their team in Fort George G Meade, MD. This role involves working as part of a cross-functional team responsible for the administration of Oracle and/or MongoDB databases, focusing on IC Security Services. The position requires a strong background in database management, performance optimization, and collaboration with developers to ensure effective database design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Allocate system storage and plan for future storage requirements
• Create and maintain primary database storage structures
• Create primary database objects (tables, views, indexes) and assist developers in design
• Modify the database structure as needed
• Monitor and optimize database performance
• Plan backup and recovery methodology
• Backup and restore the database as required
• Apply database updates and patches
• Migrate databases to new hardware as required
• Write PL/SQL stored procedures and triggers
• Write and maintain shell scripts
• Recommend new architectures, designs, and strategies for the future

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 8+ years of experience in Database Administration (Oracle or MongoDB)
• 5+ years of experience with PL/SQL
• 5+ years of experience with SQL
• Knowledge of large object (LOB) data structures
• Experience with implementation and management of partitioned objects
• Experience with RDBMS management via Cloud Control
• Experience in database architecture, designs, and strategies
• Experience in database performance tuning
• Familiarity with PERL and shell scripting
• Experience with ETL processing
• Experience with Oracle RAC
