About the position

The Database Engineer/Administrator at ManTech plays a crucial role in overseeing the design, development, support, and maintenance of the organization's database systems. The Database Engineer/Administrator is responsible for managing vendor or open-source database software, optimizing database objects for enhanced performance, and conducting capacity planning and usage forecasting. They provide comprehensive technical reviews and oversee the support for database administration requirements, making recommendations on technical direction as needed. In addition to these responsibilities, the Database Engineer/Administrator is tasked with extracting and loading data, establishing cybersecurity measures, managing hardware and software updates, and monitoring performance. They oversee the configuration of servers and databases, maintain data integrity, and handle sensitive data ethically. This role also includes providing technical support to database users and supervising and mentoring subordinate project staff members. Collaboration with other Database Engineer/Administrators is essential to ensure the smooth operation of database systems across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management and administration, with a focus on security and performance optimization. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, support, and maintenance of the organization's database systems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and 4 years of additional experience, or an Associate's Degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years of position-specific relevant experience.
  • DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level II Certification within 6 months of commencing work on the Task Order.
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related discipline.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Development or related discipline.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level III Certification.
  • Relevant industry standard certifications such as Oracle, Microsoft, or AWS.
