About the position

The position involves comprehensive database management, including installation, administration, and production support. The candidate will also be responsible for automating database processes and managing data flow effectively.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure databases in various environments.
• Provide production support and troubleshoot database issues.
• Perform upgrades and apply patches to database systems.
• Tune database performance and manage space effectively.
• Implement backup and recovery procedures for databases.
• Ensure database security and manage user roles and permissions.
• Automate database installation and replication processes.
• Manage tablespaces, logs, and indices for optimal performance.
• Document database configurations and procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience in database installation and administration.
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience with backup and recovery procedures.
• Familiarity with database security practices.
• Proficiency in shell scripting for automation tasks.
• Experience with database cloning and migration processes.
• Knowledge of data flow diagrams and database modeling.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS.
• Familiarity with IBM InfoSphere and Guardium SQL Guard.
• Knowledge of various operating systems like HP-UX, Sun Solaris, AIX, and Linux.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk and CloudWatch.
