About the position

The Database Management and Integrity Analyst for the Division of Development and Alumni Engagement provides expertise and oversight on the team's database and related systems, serving as a key partner to colleagues across the Division. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Development Services, the Database and Integrity Analyst works as part of the Development Services unit, which includes database operations, divisional budget management, financial reporting, prospect research, analytics, and gift processing. This role is crucial in implementing operational functions that provide a foundation for the Division to achieve its goals. The Database and Integrity Analyst is responsible for managing database policies, systems administration, security, and access. This includes creating and updating constituent records in the database and maintaining quality control of all data entry using data received from colleagues and constituents to improve relationship management. The analyst will create exports and queries for colleagues across the Division and provide guidance on their creation. Additionally, with guidance from the Philanthropic Data Intelligence Analyst, the analyst will create and maintain a system of routine data checks and audit reports to ensure data integrity and standardization. The role also involves creating and maintaining documentation of policies and processes for the Division's use of the database and related systems, providing training and support for Division members on these systems, and assisting in planning, managing, and implementing large data cleanup projects. The analyst will assist in the integration and regular maintenance of data across multiple systems, keeping pace with technologically driven changes to create greater efficiency, enhance workflows, and creatively resolve data quality and retrieval challenges. Furthermore, the analyst will create and deploy queries for all emails sent through the communication platform and support the creation of gift and event pages in communication software. In times of need, the analyst will serve as a backup for gift entry and event registration processing, hire, manage, and facilitate projects for student employees, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Manage database policies, systems administration, security, and access.

  • Provide training and support for DAE members on database and related systems.
  • Assist in planning, managing, and implementing large data cleanup projects.
  • Assist in the integration and regular maintenance of data across multiple systems.
  • Keep pace with technologically driven changes to create greater efficiency, enhance workflows, and creatively resolve data quality and retrieval challenges.
  • Create and deploy queries for all emails sent through communication platform.
  • Support the creation of gift and event pages in communication software.
  • Serve as a back-up gift entry and event registration processor when needed.
  • Hire, manage, and facilitate projects for student employee(s).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree required.
  • 1-2 years' experience in development or related field, preferably in a higher education setting, with a focus on technology or database-related activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytic, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and with other staff members.
  • Proficiency with Raiser's Edge/NXT, Luminate, ImportOmatic, Microsoft Office Suite, PowerBI, SQL, and Python preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events and special initiatives.
