About the position

The Database Management Developer at Leidos will support the electronic management of Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) compliance data for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining database solutions, migrating databases from Microsoft Access to PostgreSQL, and providing training and support to users. The position emphasizes front-end development using Microsoft Power Platform applications, particularly Power Apps and Power Automate, to create integrated solutions for various data sources.

Responsibilities

  • Develop complex Power Apps for mobile and browser use integrating with PostgreSQL, Dataverse, and SharePoint Online.
  • Design Power Apps for a range of end-users.
  • Develop complex Power Automate flows integrating with PostgreSQL, SharePoint, and Dataverse.
  • Create integrated solutions utilizing SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Ensure EOSH Database Management products can interface with other FAA databases/systems.
  • Facilitate testing of products and databases managed by the EOSH Database Management team.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and debugging during the creation and maintenance of EOSH Database-managed products.
  • Provide updates and modifications to Database Management Systems based on user feedback.
  • Train FAA employees who will function as Administrators.
  • Provide training and end-user support to Power Platform users.
  • Present the Database Management System and applications to FAA senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Power Platform development with a strong understanding of backend data sources including SQL (PostgreSQL).
  • Relational database experience within a multi-tiered environment.
  • Experience with backend and frontend design and development.
  • Proficient with Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Ability to integrate Power Apps and Power Automate with PostgreSQL and SharePoint.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent, with a minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in a database developer role.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with excellent presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Customer-service oriented.

Nice-to-haves

  • Dashboard development experience in Tableau and/or Power BI.
  • Experience in SharePoint design, development, and administration.
  • Ability to maintain permanent telework status while ensuring accessible communication with team members.
  • Hands-on involvement in all phases of the development process including requirements gathering, application design, integration, and maintenance.
